the round tower, short nave and vanished chancel give Runhall church a characteristic silhouette. The tower is one of the plainer examples of the hundred and twenty- four or so Norfolk round towers. There are few features save a tall narrow light on the west side, and small rectangular light higher on the south side and four two-light bell-openings facing in the cardinal directions in the upper parts of the walls.

Ground plan:
Round west tower, short aisleless nave with south porch; chancel demolished.
Footprint of Church buildings: 171 m²
The tower is doubtless Norman below and Early English above, while the nave seems to be Early English in origin with Perpendicular windows. The chancel was damaged by fire in the sixteenth century and allowed to fall into ruin - in 1602 it was said to have been destroyed by fire "about forty years since". The chancel arch is now walled up. The nave was restored and re-roofed in 1871 at a cost of £400.
C12, C13 and late medieval. Flint with ashlar dressings and some brick. Slate roof. Round western tower, aisleless nave and south porch, chancel destroyed. Late medieval tower with brick dressings, twin lancet bell-openings and parapet. 2 3-light rectangular headed Perpendicular windows and 2 late C13 Y-traceried windows - one (south) rebuilt in brick. Re-used C12 keeled billet moulding for hood-mould to other Y- traceried window, also with carved label stops. Fine late C13 blocked north door with filletted bowtells and hollow rolls. Very fine C12 ironwork of exceptional rarity on tower door with serpentine and interlace motifs.
As listed on Historic England website
C13 ogee-headed niche on east wall with surviving medieval paintwork. Fragments of C12 chevron moulding embedded in tower wall. C14 octagonal font with quatefoils.
