Description of Archaeology and History
St Gabriel's Church was designed by Velarde and completed in 1934. It is a tall, imposing structure and originally topped by two towers; one was removed in 1948 owing to subsidence.
St Gabriel's was built to serve the expanding population and suburban development of Blackburn.
The Church Hall was constructed in the 1950s and accommodates approximately 200 persons with WC facilities and a connection to a link room for 20 persons which also connects to the side of the church.
Exterior Description
The church is constructed principally in brickwork with internally rendered walls and wood block flooring.

Interior Description
Inside is: A French organ, two stained glass windows, war memorial font, various plaques, wooden pews, marble dias (2004), altar (communion table) and a brass eagle style lectern.
