Founded in 1193, and gifted to the Knights Hospitallers. With a 99 foot tower and situated at the centre of Carbrooke, the church acts as a focal point for our village.

Late C13 and C15. Flint with ashlar quoins and ashfelt roof. West tower, nave, aisles and chancel. Early C15 tower of 4 stages with diagonal buttresses. Flushwork base common to north porch and nave. West door with carved spandrels and frieze 4-light mid C15 window above. Ringing chamber with square ventilation panels of punched cusped quatrefoils enclosing armorial shields. 3-light Perpendicular belfry windows under battlemented parapet with flushwork. South porch with 4-centred arch of continuous bowtell mouldings. Inner door ogeed with finial cut by flat panelled ceiling. Buttressed aisles with 3-light Perpendicular windows, probably early C15. Gargoyle head stops to hood moulds. C19 coped parapet above undercut string course on south side only. Chancel late C13. 3 bays with 2 flat buttresses to north and south and diagonal at east. 3 C15 inserted 3-light windows under hood moulds. Single chamfered priest's door. 5-light cast window of c.1300, Cusped intersecting lights supporting quatrefoiled circle, 2 trefoiled circles and 2 mouchettes. 2 north chancel windows as south. Rood stair turret. 2 storey north porch, now blocked to become vestry. lower roof with tierceron star vault with bosses. Clerestory of 5 3-light windows. One 3-light window above chancel arch.

Interior of 5 bays. Tall octagonal bases to wave moulded piers with capitals and shafts at cardinal points. Triple chamfered arches with double wave mouldings Tower arch wave, hollow and roll moulded on similar bases. Balustraded gallery. String course below clerestory. C15 false hammerbeam roof with elaborately decorated wall plate on wall posts dropping to projecting timber corbels. Hammerbeams are angels. Arched braces to ridge piece. 2 principals per bay. Single purlins with large floral bosses at intersections. Flat arch braced aisle roofs with moulded rafters and purlins, with similar bosses. Openwork spandrels to braces. 3 tiers of panelled niches flank chancel arch. C18 coved plaster ceiling in chancel. Double piscina under pointed undercut arches. C15 oak screen with tracery. Cl4 octagonal font with tracery carving.
