A Watching Brief within the Nave
In October 2018 monitoring was undertaken during the removal of pews and a supporting timber platform. The process revealed the presence of an intact earlier floor with a geometrical design formed of tiles and lias limestone slabs. The date of this is unknown but the character of the tile suggests that it may have formed part of the mid 19th century restoration of the church.
