View of the chanel showing the choir stalls and alter rail as well as the flags of uniformed organisations taken in October 2015. Not part of the original building. Built in 1873-74 in place of the apse that existed previously. Twenty-one graves had to be re-sited in the process. It was in this area that the disastrous fire of 1894 began. The roof was destroyed, but as in the case of the nave, it did not fall in and the oak pews of 1873-74 survived and were lengthened in the restoration work. The roof itself is a complete rebuilding. The three windows in the east wall were only partially damaged.
